Houhouyan Hydropower Station is located in Kangding County, Garze Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province. It is the ninth cascade hydropower station in the 22-level development plan recommended in the hydropower planning adjustment of the main stream of the Dadu River. Provincial Highway 211 passes along the right bank of the river from Danba County to the mouth of Wasigou, and connects with National Highway 318 at the mouth of Wasigou 65km downstream of the dam site.
